Busy Busy

May long weekend came and went. I was off in Regina for my best gal Melinda's wedding. Went out to the Leg grounds and took a couple pics. The goose pictures is SOOC and I swear these things are evil. The parliment building I did a bit of pp to it.

Birthday Girl

My daughter turns two today. Here is a picture from yesterday that I love. I only wish she didnt have a bubble in front of her nose. Shot with my nifty fifty. Going to work on some portrait work with this and an off camera flash as soon as it gets here.

Face Palm Im a Noob.

So we have some great weather and things are super busy on the farm but I snuck out for a couple hours last night to try and take some decent pictures of the horses. Well let me tell you the newbie mistakes I made.

1.Forgetting your manual at home and your camera comes up with an ERROR message and locks up.

2. Not bringing a spare memory card.

3. Forgetting that your in the horses pasture and seeing a great shot and not looking down before you kneel. Yuck, gross.

So anyways these are SOOC. Hope you like them. Please feel free to comment for C&C.

I know the silhouette could be darker, but still learning that one and I know the ear on my gelding is cropped off. Piss me off, I think if I had his entire head it would have been a nice shot.

Photoshop Elements 6 Changing Backgrounds

So this weeks tutorial is on changing backgrounds. I hope you like it. I am going to test this out on my kids and you can let me know what you think.

Bloody Hell its cold out there.

So I am a big baby and hate the weather we have been having. Snow, sleet and rain. Makes me extremely cranky. Not too mention I cant go out and practice my shooting so anyways today I sucked it up and went out to practice. Here are three of my favorite shots from today.

Yesterday

Ok so manual controls freak the crap out of me. I get all wiggy with the exposure meter and tried to overcome some of this yesterday. I love this truck down in our binyard. The only crappy part is its mixed in with junk all around in. No clear shot. Had the tripod out and was messing around with the other one. I like the exposure on my dog Jake although obviously I cut off his feet and tail. The camera was on the tripod and I was trying to adjust quickly for pictures. Only post was cropping the truck and adjusting the levels a bit.

So I recently took some pictures around the farm and am trying to work on my composition as well as figuring out the different program modes of my camera. Not sure if its a hit or a miss. If anyone is out there let me know what you think.
